Bulk Waste Removal
There are a number of ways for you to discard your unwanted bulky items for free:
- There are 4 waste and recycling centres near Hackney which residents can use free of charge. You can take a range of household waste items to the sites, including unusable furniture, garden waste, electrical appliances, scrap metal and textiles.
- Ferris is the Zero Waste App for ‘giving away’ and ‘receiving’ once-loved items for free. You can declutter your home, save great stuff from disposal through the recycling app as well as source and pick up items from others for free. Ferris is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
- Items are collected for free via Freecycle or Freegle.
- Hackney Fixers arrange free, fun repair events to help you fix electrical and electronic goods. Find the next event on their website as you may save £££ by doing so.
- Hackney Council offers a service to our residents too, Monday to Friday for the collection of large items. There is a cost to booking a bulky waste collection unless you receive housing benefit. Attached is the Hackney Council link. https://hackney.gov.uk/bulky-waste
Assuming you have exhausted the options described above and still require the disposal of a bulky item such as large pieces of furniture or white goods, please contact us and we can arrange a bulky waste collection. We will confirm a date and time with you and a location for you to leave those items. Remember to obtain a job reference number from us when you contact us.
A reminder that it is illegal to dump large waste items or any other rubbish on public land. You could be fined or sent to prison for doing so.
Please note: We will not be able to assist with the removal of waste following a house clearance and or renovation work.
